Buyer/Seller Protection for Adoptables (READ)I am making this to clear the air on the common misconception of making rules for adoptables, also to help EVERYONE involved. Recently I have been making a lot of anti-seller journals that make me seem super shady, but I am on both sides.
You are not protected if you have your rules in your adoptables' description, ending with a, "You agree to these terms upon purchase." That is not enough to protect you, especially in court.
Adoptables are known as intellectual properties, or IP for short.
"Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce. IP is protected in law by, for example, patents, copyright and trademarks, which enable people to earn recognition or financial benefit from what they invent or create."
They have a whole clusterfuck of rules, but most of them are the same for any digital, non-physical item. I
